The SD70M is a diesel locomotive with an output of 4,000 horsepower (2,980 kW), the most manufactured in the SD70 series, with 1,646 units manufactured between 1992 and 2004.
Among them, UP owns 1,455 units and NS owns 68.
The appearance is very similar to that of SD70MAC, and there is a difference in the main motor in the actual car, SD70M in the direct current motor, and SD70MAC in the alternating current motor.
